Spawned from a discussion in the chatbox. We are a fairly talented group. We like to look at each other's stuff. So what if we tried a lit and art contest?

I figure we'd have one a month based on a certain theme (fantasy/horror/realistic/theme word etc). As for judging...we could either have volunteers or a poll. Prize wouldn't be much, just a sig banner and the right to pick the next theme.

So, anyone interested?

actually my idea was a contest more...uh...how should I say...open? not just for writers. this is why I didnt post anything yet. was trying to find more things people can do. not everyone here is a writer.

eh its ok. I was plaining this a bit different... like I said in the chatbox but thats alright.

Why not have different kinds of art each month? One can be writing, one can be painting, one can be drawing, one can be singing, one can be clay sculpture, etc., etc.

good idea stray! what if we picked a topic and you could either write bout it, or draw about it or whatever. then we put the writeing in a group and the art in a group and then vote on it?

That sounds good. As long as there is either no fanfic or I am kept far away from it. I have a history of turning canon into batshit.

ok so you can submit more then one piece in a contest. for example, if the contest theme is "horror" you can draw something, and write something. good or no?

Having one in December also means more people with more free time, right?

A thought I had: Name a situation/thing that you can use any means you want to portray it.
Like, say, "Your favourite moment in life". Either make a drawing of it, or write a pretty story, or whichever you wish.
Something like that, at least.

I was actually thinking of a theme word, like "winter" or "ending" for December. Maybe once we get more interest, something more wacky.

I'm somewhat interested, but I'm not very good at anything.
