Okay, I come to the Den from a variety of computers, especially when I'm at work. So instead of bookmarking it on every one of them, I usually do a Google search to get a link to the site.

However, I discovered early on that I had to search for "Dread Pirate Den Halpo"--"Dread Pirate's Den" just got me too many damn results.

Now, interestingly enough, the DPDH search would then get the result I wanted (typically, consisting of two-four links and nothing else on the page)--however, it would ask me if I meant "Dread Pirate Den Halop". I clicked on this one time, out of curiousity--and got several times more answers. Apparently, pirates love their halops. Or whatever.

But today, I get a message telling me that "Dread Pirate Halpo" is a SPAM/bot search, and have to type in a letter-code to prove I'm a real, live boy!

Clearly, there's only one option. We must go to war, sieze the headquarters for Google, and make them walk the plank.

Can we keelhaul them instead? I like keelhauling.

Keelhauling's always good. But the plank is a classic of film and literature. How's about we split 'em up--odd birthdates get keelhauled, even birthdates get the plank... and anyone born on Feb. 29th gets dropped off on a desert island.

It's getting wierder. Googling "Halpo Dread Pirate" gets me a query asking if I meant Valpo Dread Pirate. Funny thing is, I went to Valpo.
