You only had to cheat for Mew because the game is designed to be played in Japan, which is small and has a dense population, making it very easy to get to Nintendo events and trade with other players. It's taken them a long time, but they've finally made it so that players in other countries can enjoy those features, too, by making the new games wireless.

From what I've heard, there's actually a way to get a non-cheat Mew with one of the newer games, so I think the only one you need to cheat for is Celebi. I'm sure there's better things you can put in your team than a grass/psychic pokeman.

Celebi's banned anyway by the common rules of strategic play. Doesn't mean you *can't* use one, just that you should ask your opponent first.

Meh, I'm just a bit of a perfectionist. I needed to catch them all, you see. And there's a long, long list of uncatchables if you only have D/P. Plus, EV/level training to 100 broke my spirit. I was only able to raise Blissey and Jolteon before I stopped. My shiny Milotic was sadly left wanting.

You do know they autolevel your pokemon to 100 in D/P.

Or 50, if you'd rather.

The only thing that's still REALLY soul crushing is IV breeding... but I stopped wasting my time on that.

I just want a Pokemon game where you can catch em all without trading with other games. Regardless of how hard / rare some of them might be.

Better to wait for a Castlevania racing game. It's about as likely.
