PostSubject: Favourites of current television   Fri Oct 10, 2008 5:44 am

What's your favourite shows of today(So no Firefly or Arrested Development)? Maybe start some discussion on them?(that isn't Heroes).

I just got done watching a sexcellent episode of The Office, I was laughing so hard my parents got worried. I loves me some Office. I'm also a fan of My Name is Earl, which isn't good all the time, but when it's good, damn is it good.

Recently I've fallen in LOVE with It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. That show is just so great. Missed tonight's episode though, so hopefully a torrent comes up soon. Last week was great, and the gang solving the gas crisis episode? Probably one of my favourites.

I think my favourite show at the moment is Californication. The show is just damn good. Plus it has David Duchovney, naked, a lot. I just absolutely adore this show. Season 2 has been a great surprise to me, I thought it'd suck, but yet I'm starting to think I like it more than the first. It's just a great mix of comedy and drama. Mainly comedy...and sex. <3

Oh and How I Met Your Mother! I don't really enjoy this season all that much...buuuuuut...it's not that bad. I think I just hate whenever Ted isn't single and Barney isn't sleeping with more women. I love NPH so much.

Other shows I wish were on air right now so I could be watching: The Venture Brothers (Which during this last season, I was orgasmed so much. I loved it, I LOVE this show, it's pretty much my favourite show ever, and I can not stand these long waits between seasons...but it certainly is worth it.), Curb Your Enthusiasm (<3 the awkwardness), and Weeds (I'm pretty sure this show has become like weed. I hate it, yet I stay because I'm addicted. This show has just been on a semi downward spiral since the end of season 2. Season 3 was so fucking lame. Season 4 was on and off and the ending was just so argh anti climatic. sigh~ I still can't wait for next season though. Mainly because I'd bang Mary Louise Parker given the chance, best thing about season 4, really, was her boobs)

I've been meaning to start watching old seasons of The Office, but One of these days, I'll Netflix it.

Since I don't have cable, pretty much the only non-Heroes show I watch is House. I'd go hard gay for Hugh Laurie any day.

From what I hear, Fringe is basically The X-Files, but worse. Confirm/deny?

Fringe is like the X-Files if the X-Files didn't try to make sense.

Fringe is like if you wanted to watch a show where nothing really made sense but there was a lot of gory shit that you could go "WTF!" to.

Fringe is kinda like the show where even if you suspend disbelief it's unbelievable, that's how retarded the story premises are.

I kind of want to start up watching Fringe.

That and Pushing Daises.

Maybe Sarah Connor Chronicles.

I know in two months I have to make way for DOLLHOUSE :D

And yeah...not having cable is kind of hard...although now with things like torrents and hulu, you really don't need cable much. Because I didn't have cable until this summer...and only reason for it was because AT&T decided to slow down in my area, for some reason...but now with Comcast bandwidth caps? bleh.

Double-yes on Venture Brothers. They're going through season 2 right now on the nightly showings (M-TR 12:30 eastern) but I don't know if they plan to play season 3 right after. God, I hope so.

The only TV I ever get around to watching is Boston Legal and Good News Week. (Mainly because they are on consecutively.)

The only show that I really enjoy that's still coming out with new episodes is Venture Bros.

Spoiler:

Anything else I watch that's still new I only watch because it happens to be the most entertaining thing on at the moment.

I like Monk.

And I saw the previews for Chuck and was sort of intrigued. But I'm not sure how interesting it would be.

It's basically just a soap opera with guns and jingoism.

I've been watching Fringe, and I think it has real potential, even though the science of it is, as the Joshua Jackson character keeps pointing out, insane.

Other than that, it seems like I watch relatively a lot of TV. The only non-fiction, non-news, non-fake-news show I watch is MythBusters.

I've given up on television a long time ago and never looked back.

I don't miss it one bit.

I watched on episode of Fringe in which they got a murder victim's last sight by plugging her eyes into a big TV and flashing some lights brightly. I don't think I need to say any more than that.

I only watch Heroes and Mythbusters, the latter of which is recorded on the DVR every time it airs. <3 Other than that, I just watch whatever on Discovery or the Science Channel. I don't watch TV a whole lot, but my dad likes to have it on at all times when he's home, and they have some interesting shit that tends to distract me from whatever I'm doing.

I like Mythbusters. It's not one of those shows I neeed to watch, but I enjoy it.

Only shows I ever neeed to watch is when I know they shot the episode like...in my town(and every time they do come close I miss meeting them T_T). But I love the show.

Another show I'm missing: Penn and Tellar's Bullshit! Love that show.

And I guess I forgot to bring up I watch The Daily Show and The Colbert Report, I forget that they are television and not just imbued in my mind. I also tend to watch a lot of Fox News, just because it's the only totally right sided News Network, and despite it's complete suckage, it does help balance out all the crappy Left Crap on every other network.

I think I may spend too much time watching television. But I assume that is a lie. I spend just about the same amount of time watching movies, reading, playing games, being outside. Overall I guess I spend far too much time on this wretched machine with the TV on to the right of me. But hey hey, what can you do?

So, you're aware that Fox News is full of shit, and you know that it's incredibly biased, but you watch it anyway because the fact that it's the opposite of the alleged liberal bias makes it okay?
This is why I get my news from public broadcasting. Actual lack of bias. Try it some time.
