The Valkyrie gunship thundered across the desolate landscape, its crew shaken around by the violent turbulence.

"This is it, men. This may only be an excercise, but that does not mean this should not be taken seriously. You will be using live ammunition, so keep your heads down. May the Emperor watch over you, and may the best soldier prevail! Now move!"

One by one the assembled guardsmen jumped from the open rear hatch of the Valkyrie, their chutes carrying them slowly down towards the battlefield.
