If you enjoyed the game I gave you last time, there's actually a Tohou fighting game that's pretty solid.

I've got it up on megaupload so feel free to pick it up

Better: It's got online fighting capabilities. I'm going to work out how it works, and if anyone's interested, we could definately have some fun times here.

Scarlet Weather Rhapsody. I love this damn game.

It is probably the most in depth 2D fighting game I've ever played. The character sprites and music are incredibly well done. The fighting is very fast paced and hectic, but still a lot of fun.

I really like how you can customize your characters with the different spell cards. You can change their move sets, as well as make certain attacks stronger.

I haven't given the online multiplayer a shot yet...

Oh, I think Babus plays this game and was looking for people to play with. I should tell it to come here.

My brother plays online all the time. Apparently there's never any lag at all when he plays.

The only downside I can see is they need a damned English patch. But if you just want to play the 1player game you can figure it out.

Controls:

a - left direction
s - down
d - right direction
w - up/jump

that's like in a D pad

j - dash (can dash in any direction, and in the air)
k - switch spell cards (you can see those on the corner of the screen, they do different things, practice with them)
l- use chosen spell card
m - melee attack (changes based on how close you are/ whether you're dashing/what button you press. If you are close and standing still you can do a 4-6 hit combo melee)
, - weak projectile
. - strong projectile (projectile buttons do melee attacks while dashing

Special attacks:
Each character gets various special attacks. Each has a different strategy, but the attack combos are the same

sd , (in that order)
sa ,
ss ,
dssd ,

There's some more stuff you can do, but that's the basics, the rest you can probably figure out by playing.

I've been playing it for a couple of weeks now, by "feeling out" the game. You can customize your keys for better control, which is a plus.

Right now, I'm plugging away at collecting all of the spell cards. I prefer playing in Story Mode, because the fights are much more epic. However, some of the stories are far too short. (Suika's story is only three fights, sadly) Versus Mode is good for a quick exhibition round, and plays out more like a 'normal' fighting game.

I agree on the need for a translation patch, but that won't stop me from playing it. The Touhou Wiki has a translation for most (maybe all) of the games. Mostly plot dialogue, which is fine.

Again, I thank you for introducing me to the series. I can't believe how much I've been drawn in.

Seriously, me as well. Although this fighting game I enjoy much more than the shooting games, actually.

They need a Tohou anime. I can only imagine the levels of crack it would require to do so (considering how cracky the game's stories are.
