PostSubject: Making an entrance   Mon Feb 25, 2008 6:37 am

Hello. Good day. Happy to see you. I, on occasion, am known as Original Sin, but please call me Sin. I am a nerd, and it is my goal to become a professional nerd. My interests include but are not necessarily limited to science fiction, fantasy, anime, manga, MST3K, Lost, Star Trek, The X-Files, J.R.R. Tolkien, The Dark Tower, Alan Moore comics, Dungeons & Dragons, Exalted, the World of Darkness, video games, computer programming, Monty Python, Douglas Adams, The Wheel of Time, Harry Potter, The Matrix trilogy, Star Wars, The Simpsons, Futurama, Ricky Gervais, and many, many more, these being in no particular order. I have a sneaking suspicion that some of these interests may intersect with the set of interests possessed by some of you. Thank you for your time.

The Wheel of Time frightens me. I read the first book, but enough of the series was out that I heard the horror stories of the later books and decided to leave well enough alone. Pity, the first book was interesting.

(You should totally check out Scott Westerfeld, esp. his adult novels. No, not adult that way, he now writes YA books that are also good, but I do like the adult stuff he wrote.)

Welcome aboard! Also, I'm going to be nice and spare you all the unholy mix of Jordan and Journey that just popped into my head.

It is my goal to rule the seven seas. And all other bodies of water. But, I'm lazy, and that kinda gets in the way. I wish you better luck.

THEY NEVER END!

Really... You read them, and catch up to the latest book in the series, and wait years for the next one. Although, the next one is the last one. Also, the first few books are great, the rest only decent. Still worth a read in my opinion.

That doesn't really seem like a horror story though. I only read through book 9, I think it is, 'cause that one has more of an ending, kind of like the sort you see between two seasons of an anime when they don't want to leave you with a cliffhanger. (Unlike Lost.) I'ma just wait there for the last one, then continue.

I've read Westerfeld's Risen Empire books. Pretty solid, all in all.
Thanks for the greetings, everyone.

I can't believe I forgot to mention Firefly/Serenity and Magic: The Gathering, but that's what I get for posting late at night, I suppose.
